After more than a decade of serving the Anderson community, Growler Haus has announced it will close its doors on June 11.

The craft beer bar, located at 313 N Main Street, has been a staple in the local scene since its opening in 2012.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the management cited insurmountable insurance issues as the primary reason for the closure.

They expressed gratitude for the support over the years, stating, "We have enjoyed 14 great years of our tribe members, craft beer, fun times and creating memories."

However, they lamented the impact of recent legislative policies and insurance challenges, noting that their insurance was canceled despite no claims over 14 years, with new quotes increasing by 1000% to $30,000.

This closure follows the shutdown of their West Greenville location in December 2023, making the Anderson spot the last Growler Haus in the Upstate.

Patrons have fond memories of the establishment.

One customer shared, "Stopped in for a drink and was not disappointed. An awesome place to hang out with friends and a great selection."

Another reminisced about the ambiance, mentioning the friendly staff and the cozy setting.

As the final day approaches, the community is invited to join in a farewell celebration.

The management hopes the last day will be a "blow out," allowing patrons to relive cherished memories and bid a proper goodbye to a beloved local institution.
